Drums Sunil

Drums Sunil was born into a musical family, He studied Mridangam at Karaikudi Mani’s School and Ghatam under Giridhar Udupa; Tabla under Rajendra Nakod; and Congas and Latin jazz under Pedrito Martinez. He currently owns his Drums and percussion school named “Drums Sunil” , where he teaches Drums and World percussions, He also has students in the U.S.A. and U.K. learning under his tutelage.

A versatile Drummer and percussionist by nature experimenting with hybrid drums and percussion setups playing a wide range of genres with a wide range of instruments he plays from Latin, folk, blues, classic rock, Progressive rock, filmy(Bollywood, Kollywood, Tollywood, sandalwood)Metal, Carnatic, Fusion, Afro-Cuban. He draws inspiration from artists like Dennis Chambers, Richie Flores, Virgil Donati, Sivamani, Pedrito Martinez, Steve Gadd, Yanni, Santana, and bands like Led Zeppelin, Rush, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Guns n Roses, Santana, etc his tutelage.

Currently, Drums Sunil regularly performs his solo concerts, he is a regular feature as a percussionist for the Raghu Dixit Project, a Session percussionist and He has also performed with giants like Drums Sivamani, Ghatam Giridhar Udupa, Apernit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Trumpet Thomas, Drummer Sankar, Singer Arivu, Manna Dey, S.P Balasubramanium

Drummer Sunil performed in Prestigious Cannes festival as a drummer.
